4 Workouts Perfect for Winter

If you’ve ever tried to work out during the winter, you know that it can be amazing and incredibly challenging. The cold air can be refreshing and fun, but trying to keep up your workout can be hard. Not to mention, trying to get motivated to work out in the first place is so much harder in the winter. 

Here are four workouts that are perfect for cold months when you want to keep up your routine. Some of these might even shake up your routine a little and get you out of that plateau!

Trampoline Jumping

Did you know that jumping on a trampoline for one hour or more can burn more than 1,000 calories? That’s near all the calories most people normally eat in a full day! So, by spending time on a trampoline, you’re increasing your chances of a great workout. 

Jumping on a trampoline is also a low-impact exercise. It’s not as taxing on your joints as other workouts can be. If you want to stay in shape and be able to keep your body pain-free for as long as possible, don’t forget to add in low-impact exercises. 

Running

Going for a run or a jog can be a good wintertime exercise. Keep in mind, though, that if you run outside it will be much colder than in other seasons. You’ll have to dress appropriately and prepare for the cold. If you’re running indoors on a treadmill, be sure to warm up. Running, outdoors or on a treadmill, is a high-impact exercise that can really hurt your ankles and knees if you’re not warmed up properly.

Yoga

Yoga is a great low-impact exercise. You can practice in a studio to get out of the cold. But you can also partake in outdoor yoga sessions if it’s warm enough where you live.

Lifting Weights

Lifting weights can be a great indoor exercise for winter. Repetition is the name of the game with weightlifting. Many coaches and professionals rely on numerous repetitions of moves with increasing weight amounts.
